If you have Internet Explorer (IE) 8 or higher installed and you're still getting warning messages about having and old version of IE installed, then it is very likely that you have IE compatibility mode turned on.
IE compatibility mode was first created by Microsoft because when IE8 was first released, many Web sites that were written for IE7 did not work correctly in the new browser. Microsoft continued to support compatibility mode in later versions of IE, in order to always have a fall-back plan so that IE could display old web sites that would not display properly in a modern web browser.
However, Lottery Post is specifically created with modern web browsers in mind, so if you have IE compatibilty mode turned on, it will actually hurt the ability for Lottery Post to function correctly, and with all the features available.
Even if you do not notice problems in IE, or if you have not received warning messages, it is a good idea to check and be sure that IE compatibilty mode is turned off.
To be sure IE compatibility mode is disabled, you need to check two different areas in IE:
- Press the Alt key on your keyboard to display the menu. Then, from the Tools menu, select Compatibility View Settings. If Lottery Post appears in the "Websites you've added" box, highlight it and click the Remove button.
Also, be sure that the option for "Display all websites in Compatibility View" is not checked. Then click the Close button.
- Press F12 to show the Developer Tools window. In the menu of that window, the two right-most menus should say, "Browser Mode: IE" and "Document Mode: IE Standards" (or just "Document Mode: Standards"). (The should be the same version number of the version of IE that is installed on your computer — for example, it should say "IE10" if you have IE10 on your computer.) If they do not say that exactly, then change them to those settings. Then close the Developer Tools window by clicking the red "X" in the upper-right corner.
That should do it! You should no longer receive the IE warning messages, and your Internet Explorer is set to its optimal compatibility mode settings for Lottery Post.
